Student Rights
At the National Diversity Institute of Australia, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students. As an NDI student, you have the right to:
- Be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect by all NDI staff and fellow students.
- Learn in an environment that is free from all forms of discrimination, harassment, bullying, or victimisation.
- Study in a space where your personal health and safety are safeguarded through appropriate risk controls.
- Have your personal information protected and managed in accordance with NDI’s Privacy Policy.
- Access your personal records and academic information, provided all applicable tuition and administration fees have been settled.
- Lodge a complaint or grievance and have it handled fairly, promptly, confidentially, and without fear of negative consequences.
- Appeal academic and procedural decisions through a clear and transparent process.
Student Responsibilities
As a student at the National Diversity Institute of Australia, you are expected to uphold the following responsibilities throughout your learning journey and interactions with NDI:
- Treat all staff, fellow students, and community members with fairness, courtesy, and respect—avoiding any actions or language that could offend, harm, or humiliate others.
- Refrain from engaging in behaviour that causes harm, discrimination, victimisation, or disruption to others.
- Respect the rights, beliefs, and property of others, and value the diverse backgrounds and perspectives within the NDI community.
- Avoid recording or storing any information during training that may pose a risk to your safety or that of others.
- Promptly inform NDI of any changes to your personal or contact details.
- Provide NDI with accurate and up-to-date information relevant to your enrolment and participation.
- Approach your studies with commitment, integrity, and enthusiasm.
- Complete all learning activities, assessments, and assignments to the best of your ability and within the required timelines.
