Scholarships

At the National Diversity Institute of Australia, we are committed to supporting access to quality education for students from diverse backgrounds. Our scholarship program is designed to recognise academic excellence, community involvement, leadership potential, and financial need, especially among international and underrepresented learners.

Who is Eligible?

NDI scholarships are available to:

  • International students applying for full-time study in eligible certificate or diploma programs.

  • Domestic students from disadvantaged or underrepresented communities.

  • Students demonstrating financial hardship, community involvement, or leadership potential.

Types of Scholarships

  1. Merit-Based Scholarships
    Awarded to students with outstanding academic achievements and a demonstrated commitment to learning.

  2. Equity and Access Scholarships
    For students facing financial barriers or personal hardship, including those from rural, Indigenous, or refugee backgrounds.

  3. International Student Scholarships
    Partial tuition scholarships for international applicants demonstrating academic performance and community involvement.

  4. Women in Care & Support Leadership Scholarships
    Encouraging women pursuing studies in Disability, Aged Care, or Community Services.

Scholarship Value

Scholarships may cover:

  • A percentage of tuition fees (10% )

  • Learning materials

  • Student support and mentoring services

Note: Scholarships do not cover accommodation, living costs, or Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

How to Apply

To apply for a scholarship, students must:

  1. Complete a scholarship application form (available upon course application).

  2. Submit supporting documents such as:

    • Academic transcripts

    • Personal statement (300–500 words)

    • Evidence of financial need (if applicable)

    • Reference letters (optional)

Application Deadlines

Scholarship applications must be submitted at least 4 weeks before the start of the course. Late applications will only be considered if scholarships remain available.

Selection Process

Applications will be assessed by the NDI Scholarships Committee based on:

  • Eligibility criteria

  • Academic merit and/or financial need

  • Quality of personal statement

Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview.

Conditions

  • Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress and attendance.

  • Scholarships are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.

  • If a student withdraws or is terminated from their course, the scholarship may be revoked.
